HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring Michelle Clerveaux

Image may contain: text

My name is Michelle Clerveaux, Creative Director, Designer and Founder of Born To Win Kids clothing company. Born To Win was created to encourage and empower children of all ages with the message of becoming whatever they want to be in making their dreams a reality and reaching for the Stars. My clothing company was made for kids as they are our future generation and need much encouragement and guidance to keep them on the right track in life.

My goal of reaching out to your school is genuinely authentic in giving back to my community and paying it forward. I would love to have the opportunity to assist in partnering up in creating a unique fundraiser with my kids clothing company where I am offering a full and partial scholarship. As parents it can be extremely difficult at times to truly give your children everything that they need as I was once a child and watched my mom struggle to make sure we have all that we needed so to make a family’s life a little easier would be my absolute pleasure with this opportunity.

My mother left Haiti at the age of 16 to live with her father here in the US and instead of finishing school, she took a job cleaning houses to save money to bring her mother and her five siblings to this country. She decided to start her own cleaning service in order to spend more time with my brother and I. By the time I was in junior high school, I was working at a drug store where I met LL Cool J was became a defining moment in my life when he told me to keep striving and as destiny would have it, he showed up to my school one day to introduce a program he created called Pencil.

This program changed my life growing up a young girl who had big dreams of being a successful designer when I wrote an essay about the importance of excellence and won first place out of 5000 kids. The program Pencil gave me the opportunity to intern at the Def Jam program where I was mentored and taught about business, networking, law, marketing and art. Through this amazing program, I was fortunate to work for the likes of Sean John, Akademiks, South Pole, Jones of New York and many other labels. My designs have been featured in major stores such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Kohl's, JC Penney as well as Walmart.

Now that I am in this place of happiness and continuous learning and growing, I would love to have to opportunity to help that little boy or little girl who has a major dream in his or her heart that she would like to come true but not sure how to begin. I want to be able to give them the same mentor-ship and guidance I was given in order for them to become successful in their life personally and professionally as life is full of obstacles but with support, encouragement and a fearless heart they are able to overcome anything that comes their way.

Keep up with Michelle Clerveaux at links listed below:

BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND

As I've taken the time to meditate for the past month during the transition of season, I've realized that I've grown a whole lot. I am such a better person today, then I was yesterday, last month, last year... I've improved so much by simply becoming familiar with my state of being, sense of style, and personality. I've learned a lot about myself and embraced myself as my own best friend. I must share that it has been the best personal experience I have ever had in so long. My mind has developed and broadened into creative thinking. Since then, my dreams have been coming true, one after the other. What was once lost is now gained by simply knowing myself as I am. I am now all smiles, walking a path with a new destination. The beauty of it is that I did not need anyone to do anything for me to acquire this new found sense of happiness, peace, freedom, and joy. I am blessed and it shows. I wear it from head to toe. Now, as my blessings pour into my life, I feel...

HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring Frantzlie Vaval

My name is Frantzlie Vaval, I was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to the United States when I was 13 years old with my family. I must say it was difficult adjusting to a new culture and language.  Looking back, I can say that I conquered many adversities, and always knew with God and family, I would be able to overcome them. I was raised in a Christian home and I see the values that were instilled in me helped me become the woman that I am today.  I currently work as a Public Health adviser. I enjoy working with different communities, and helping people in need of advice. I also work as a Realtor agent, since I enjoy helping others find a place to call home. There are different things that I enjoy doing, but I can truly say that I have a passion in music. I was raised around musicians, my father is a choir director, my mother, sisters and I all sing.  I currently direct a choir as well. I guess I followed in my father's footsteps.  One thing I re...

HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring LeaAnn Fuller

My name is LeaAnn Fuller and I am a Fuller Life Coach, Author, and Motivational Speaker. I have graduated from Coach U’s Core Essential Program and am working my way up towards the highest Coaching Certification through the International Coaching Federation.  I am the founder and owner of Fuller Life, LLC. I know how hard life can be and how it can even kick you when you are down.  I have always had to work hard.  I was a young mom that had to bust my bottom to graduate with honors and continue on to college for business.  Instead of senior trips and dances I spent my nights and weekends doing homework with my little girl in my lap. I spent many years as a single mom raising my three girls on my own, working three jobs at times.  I have been considered homeless, through the guidelines of the school, sleeping on my mom’s couch and my girls on an air mattress on the floor.  It has taken me many years to dig myself out of debt and rebuild my credi...
