PRECIOUS PINK MEMORIES

On October 17, 2014, I had the privilege of hosting the First Annual Precious Pink Memories created by Luna Starz Management. Luna Starz Management is a savvy event planning company created by Lounick Perony, aka Cookie Sweet. As a Breast Cancer Survivor, Lounick Perony is committed to creating fun filled events in order to fundraise for Breast Cancer Awareness. A portion of the proceeds are donated to American Cancer Society at Making Strides Walk.

After receiving the news that I would be hosting Precious Pink Memories, my first thought was, "What am I going to do with my hair?" As a naturalist for the past three years, I've been wearing many different styles of kinky twists. I did not want to look the same for the event. I felt that I needed to step up and demonstrate some creativity of my natural beauty and charm.
As I envisioned, I came up with a Mohawk, but I was not sure of how the front was going to turn out. And, as you know, I definitely did not want to wear a regular Mohawk, since I always dare to be different. As I sat in my hairdresser's chair, I told her to start the back with the Mohawk, and shift it to the side. As she proceeded my vision became clear, then I confirmed that I wanted a half moon in the front, shifted to the side. And, that is how I ended up with this beauty. My hair created lots of attention as I walked the streets of New York City. People literally stopped me and requested to take a look at my hair. And, when they ask me the name of the style, I answered with a smile, "It's a Half Moon Mohawk".
As far as my outfit, I actually shopped my closet. All of the items worn, I owned years ago. Now let me inform you that this dress did not fit me, a month ago. I was unable to put up the zipper to close the back of the dress. Therefore, I decided to return to my exercise regimen which was long overdue. Signed up for the gym and began cardiovascular workout routines to remove some excess fat which did not belong on my body. My weight fluctuates all the time, but the greatness of it all is that I always find a way to snap it back. I also changed my diet by eating more fruits and vegetables, incorporated juicing on a daily basis, reduced my carbohydrate intake and added fiber to my daily eating routine.

You can find this undeniably hot faux leather sheet dress at Venus, (online clothing store).
The shoes were from Rainbow Shop , the custom jewelry were from local beauty accessory stores.

The beauty in pink is Lounick Perony, aka Cookie Sweet, CEO/Owner of Luna Starz Management and a Breast Cancer Survivor for two years. She is living her dream via Luna Starz Management. BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND

As I've taken the time to meditate for the past month during the transition of season, I've realized that I've grown a whole lot. I am such a better person today, then I was yesterday, last month, last year... I've improved so much by simply becoming familiar with my state of being, sense of style, and personality. I've learned a lot about myself and embraced myself as my own best friend. I must share that it has been the best personal experience I have ever had in so long. My mind has developed and broadened into creative thinking. Since then, my dreams have been coming true, one after the other. What was once lost is now gained by simply knowing myself as I am. I am now all smiles, walking a path with a new destination. The beauty of it is that I did not need anyone to do anything for me to acquire this new found sense of happiness, peace, freedom, and joy. I am blessed and it shows. I wear it from head to toe. Now, as my blessings pour into my life, I feel...

HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring Frantzlie Vaval

My name is Frantzlie Vaval, I was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to the United States when I was 13 years old with my family. I must say it was difficult adjusting to a new culture and language.  Looking back, I can say that I conquered many adversities, and always knew with God and family, I would be able to overcome them. I was raised in a Christian home and I see the values that were instilled in me helped me become the woman that I am today.  I currently work as a Public Health adviser. I enjoy working with different communities, and helping people in need of advice. I also work as a Realtor agent, since I enjoy helping others find a place to call home. There are different things that I enjoy doing, but I can truly say that I have a passion in music. I was raised around musicians, my father is a choir director, my mother, sisters and I all sing.  I currently direct a choir as well. I guess I followed in my father's footsteps.  One thing I re...

HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring LeaAnn Fuller

My name is LeaAnn Fuller and I am a Fuller Life Coach, Author, and Motivational Speaker. I have graduated from Coach U’s Core Essential Program and am working my way up towards the highest Coaching Certification through the International Coaching Federation.  I am the founder and owner of Fuller Life, LLC. I know how hard life can be and how it can even kick you when you are down.  I have always had to work hard.  I was a young mom that had to bust my bottom to graduate with honors and continue on to college for business.  Instead of senior trips and dances I spent my nights and weekends doing homework with my little girl in my lap. I spent many years as a single mom raising my three girls on my own, working three jobs at times.  I have been considered homeless, through the guidelines of the school, sleeping on my mom’s couch and my girls on an air mattress on the floor.  It has taken me many years to dig myself out of debt and rebuild my credi...
