HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH 2017: Honoring Angel L. Varner, LMT

Angel L. Varner, LMT

At the tender age of 9, Angel LaFaith Varner recognized that she had a great purpose in life: a passion to help people through encouragement and making them feel good about themselves.  She didn't know exactly how she would accomplish this as she was extremely timid.  At this same age, Angel started struggling with some health issues.  She pushed through any issue she had and studied hard, helping her family and peers, receiving honors awards throughout elementary, junior high and high school.

Although facing more serious health issues at the age of 14, Angel's charisma and confidence flowed into her adulthood.  Struggling with Lymphedema (a silent Lymphatic System disease), in 2013 she decided she would attend New York College of Health Professions (Syosset, NY), to reach more people in the LE & Lymphatic Disease community as well as the Oncology community.  With many obstacles, Angel managed to graduate from college with a 3.79 GPA, a Clinic Award for great service in the campus' 8-month internship program treating real clients from all walks of life, and an AOS in Massage Therapy.  She sat for the NY State massage license board exam in August 2016, officially receiving her license on October 28, 2016.

In that proud moment, LaFaith Wellness came to life!  LaFaith Wellness  is Angel LaFaith’s health & wellness business, bringing massage therapy services to your door.  She provides modalities including but not limited to Swedish, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy & Acupressure.  She also makes custom essential oil blends to treat your specific conditions & ailments as well as aromatherapy creams and body/room mists.

Angel has been practicing as an LMT ever since and continues her education, determined to become a certified Lymphedema Specialist by early 2018.  She is a donating member of the LymphaticEducation & Research Network , and actively participates in their events to help bring awareness to LE & lymphatic diseases.

While the LE, lymphatic disease & oncology communities are near to her heart, she is a very passionate individual who looks forward to helping all of you in need of pain management, relaxation, harmonizing, stress relief & more!!

Angel L. Varner is also a proud member of GROWNGIRLS NYC

Organix

When it comes to natural hair, the only thing you hear Naturalists talk about is moisture and hydration . Please become familiar with these two words because that is the only way to keep your natural hair alive. Natural hair loves oils. It absorb it because your roots are always thirsty. Oils are known as nutrients to your scalp and hair. Here are the oils I use on my hair: Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk and Argan Oil & Shea Butter by Organix. Coconut Oil is a 100% pure natural conditioner. It is a stimulant, rich in vitamins and excellent for hair growth. Coconut Milk nourishes my hair and prevents balding. It is a great hair detangler and an awesome conditioner. I create my own conditioner by applying honey to my coconut milk, mixing it and applying it to my hair for hair growth and scalp stimulation. Argan Oil & Shea Butter restores my hair and scalp. Argan Oil penetrates my hair leaving a non-greasy shine. And, Shea Butter creates smooth strands t...
